Insurance FAQ

This section addresses common questions about TDY’s insurance offerings, including eligibility, changes in coverage, and who to contact for help.

  • When does my coverage start?
Coverage start dates depend on your assignment and eligibility rules for the specific plan. Refer to your offer letter or benefits summary for details. Typically there is a 60 days waiting period for new hires.
  • Can I change my elections later?
Changes are typically only allowed during open enrollment or after a qualifying life event (such as marriage, birth, or loss of other coverage). Additional documentation may be required.
  • Who do I contact with benefit questions?
For questions about eligibility, enrollment, or plan details, contact the TDY HR department using the information provided in your onboarding materials or on the Contact page.
  • What if I work at multiple facilities?
Your core TDY benefits generally follow you between eligible assignments; however, some client facilities may have additional requirements or options. Review all materials carefully for each assignment.
  • What is a deductible?
A deductible is what you pay out of pocket each plan year before insurance starts sharing costs. It usually applies to larger expenses like hospital stays, surgeries, or ER visits.
  • What is coinsurance?
Coinsurance is the percentage you pay after meeting your deductible. For example, if your plan is 80/20, insurance pays 80% and you pay 20% until you reach your out‑of‑pocket maximum.
